Wayanad Hills Farmer Producer Company Limited was established in 2021 in the Sultan Bathery Block of Wayanad district under the Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India for the formation of 10,000 FPOs, facilitated by the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC).
As the company enters its fifth year of operation, having successfully overcome its initial teething troubles, we are moving forward on a path of steady growth. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our 420 shareholder farmers for their constant support and cooperation.

New Initiatives
Medicinal Plant Cultivation
In collaboration with the Coimbatore Ayurveda Shala, we are launching a project next month to cultivate medicinal plants. This project aims to organize and empower farmers to grow approximately 45 varieties of medicinal herbs with a three-year buyback guarantee.
Avocado Mission
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Manilal (Retd. from CFTRI), we've made significant strides in Avocado cultivation, processing, and marketing.
- Organized specialized trainings, helping 70 farmers produce 13 value-added products.
- Branding "Wayanadan Avocado" and declaring Ambalavayal as an "Avocado City".
- Future plans include grafting training, harvest management, and establishing processing units.
Shareholder Expansion
To avail further assistance from the Central Government's SFAC, the company needs to increase its total shareholder strength from 420 to 750. Accordingly, the Board of Directors has decided to issue 330 additional shares to eligible farmers.
